Dries easily and well with little degrade. There is very small movement in service.
It works reasonably well with hand and machine tools, but has a blunting effect on tools which need to be kept sharpened. The interlocked grain may tear in planing unless a reduced cutting angle is used. It nails, screws, glues and takes stain and polish well. The sanding dust can cause irritation to the skin.
Moderately durable, and resistant to preservation treatment.
